Troubleshooting

App does not appear in project sidebar

Checklist:

  1. Confirm app is installed and enabled in Jira Manage apps.
  2. Confirm you can open the Jira project.
  3. Refresh the page and try again.
  4. Ask your Jira admin to check project navigation settings.

App opens but no data appears

Checklist:

  1. Verify you are in the correct Jira project.
  2. Confirm stakeholders were created in this same project.
  3. Refresh page after recent installation or permission changes.
  4. Check with admin for app health/deployment status.

Changes are not visible to teammates

Checklist:

  1. Confirm teammates are viewing the same Jira project.
  2. Ask teammates to refresh Jira.
  3. Verify project access permissions for affected users.

Communication tasks are not being followed up

Fix:

  • Ensure each task has an owner and due date
  • Review overdue tasks in weekly cadence
  • Keep task descriptions action-oriented (what outcome is needed)

FAQ

Is data shared across all Jira projects?

No. Data is project-scoped. Each project has its own stakeholder map and communication records.

Can non-admin users use the app?

Yes, if they can access the Jira project where the app is installed.

What is the best update cadence?

Most teams update map ratings weekly and run SEAM review once per sprint.

Should we map every possible stakeholder?

No. Start with the people who materially affect project outcomes. Expand only when needed.

What if stakeholder influence changes during delivery?

Update Power/Interest immediately and adjust communication tasks in the same review session.

How do we onboard new team members quickly?
