Configuring Your Bookmarks

Simple Bookmarks has no separate settings page. All configuration happens inline when you create or edit a bookmark — either from the issue sidebar panel or the Bookmarks dashboard.

Priority Levels

Assign a priority to any bookmark to reflect how urgently you need to act on it. Priority is optional.

LevelBadge ColorSuggested Use
HighRedIssues requiring immediate attention or action today
MediumYellowIssues to address this week or sprint
LowBlueIssues to revisit eventually, no immediate deadline

Priority badges are visible in the sidebar panel view state, the dashboard table, and the Bookmark Details modal. You can filter and sort by priority in the dashboard.

Due Dates

A due date is a private reminder date attached to a bookmark. It is not shared with other team members and does not affect the Jira issue itself.

Due dates are color-coded in the dashboard to draw attention to time-sensitive items:

StateColorCondition
OverdueRedDue date is in the past
Due todayOrangeDue date is today
UpcomingNormalDue date is in the future
No dateNo due date set

You can use the Due Date filter in the dashboard to show only overdue, upcoming, or undated bookmarks.

Tags

Tags are free-text labels you attach to a bookmark for personal organization.

  • Enter tags as a comma-separated list, for example: frontend, needs-review, sprint-5
  • Maximum tags per bookmark: 10
  • Maximum characters per tag: 50
  • Tags appear as pill badges in the dashboard and can be searched from the search bar

In the Bookmark Details modal, you can add new tags by typing and pressing Enter, and remove individual tags by clicking the × on each pill.

Notes

The note field holds your personal commentary on the issue.

  • Maximum length: 1,000 characters
  • URLs in notes are automatically converted to clickable links when viewed
  • Notes are searched by the dashboard search bar

Data Storage

Your bookmarks are stored in Atlassian Forge’s secure key-value storage, which runs on Atlassian’s own cloud infrastructure.

  • Data never leaves Atlassian Cloud — no external services are involved
  • Bookmarks are private per user; no teammate can read your bookmarks
  • Bookmarking an issue does not send any notification to the issue’s assignee, reporter, or existing watchers
