Bookmarking Issues

The Bookmark panel appears in the right sidebar of every Jira issue. It has three distinct states depending on whether the issue is bookmarked and whether you are editing it.

Adding a Bookmark

  1. Open a Jira issue.

  2. Find the Bookmark panel in the right sidebar.

  3. Click Add to Bookmarks. The panel switches to the form state.

  4. Fill in the fields you want (all fields are optional):

  5. Click Save. The panel switches to the view state.

Date Added is set automatically at creation and cannot be edited.

View State Actions

When an issue is bookmarked, the view state shows all saved fields and three action buttons:

Editing a Bookmark

  1. Open the Jira issue.
  2. In the Bookmark panel, click Edit.
  3. Update any fields in the form.
  4. Click Save to apply changes, or Cancel to discard them.

Clicking Cancel returns to the view state without saving any changes.

Removing a Bookmark

Simple Bookmarks uses a two-click confirmation pattern to prevent accidental deletion.

  1. In the view state, click Remove.
  2. The button turns red and changes to Confirm?.
  3. Click Confirm? a second time to permanently delete the bookmark.

If you change your mind, click anywhere else on the page or wait 10 seconds. The button resets to its idle state and the bookmark is not deleted.

Note: Removing a bookmark deletes it permanently. There is no undo.
