Use this page when something is not working as expected.

Common issues

I do not see Simple Decision Log in the project sidebar

Try this:

  1. Confirm the app is installed and enabled in Jira Settings -> Apps.
  2. Refresh Jira and reopen the project.
  3. Verify you have project access permissions.

I cannot create or save a decision

Check:

  1. Required fields are filled (title, status, date, rationale).
  2. Field values are valid for your configured options.
  3. Your network connection is stable.

Linked issue search returns no results

Check:

  1. You are in the expected project context.
  2. You can view the target issue in Jira.
  3. You search with issue key (for example PROJ-123) when possible.

Filters show no decisions

  1. Clear all active filters.
  2. Expand date range.
  3. Switch to broader status/category values and retry.

Export looks incomplete

  1. Confirm whether you exported filtered or all records.
  2. Re-run export with no filters.
  3. Verify recently edited records were saved before export.

Is this app Jira Cloud only?

Yes. Simple Decision Log is built for Jira Cloud.

Who can view and edit decisions?

Access is controlled by Jira project permissions.

Can we track decision ownership clearly?

Yes. Use DACI fields to document Driver, Approver, Contributors, and Informed roles.

Can we report decisions outside Jira?

Yes. Use export support to share records in external reports. PDF export is available if enabled in your version.

What is the best way to keep the log useful over time?

Use consistent categories, link delivery issues, and revisit impact after implementation.
