Getting Started
This guide gets you from install to your first recorded decision quickly.
Before you start
Make sure you have:
- Jira Cloud project access
- The app installed on your Jira site
- Permission to open the project where you want to log decisions
Create your first decision in less than 5 minutes
- Open a Jira project.
- In the project sidebar, open Simple Decision Log.
- Click New Decision.
- Fill in the minimum fields:
- Title
- Status
- Decision Date
- Rationale
- (Optional) Add DACI roles and linked Jira issues.
- Click Save.
You now have a decision record your team can review and reference.

Use this as a starter pattern:

- One clear title with a verb (
Choose,Deprecate,Adopt) - Date matches when the decision was made
- Rationale explains why this option won
- At least one linked Jira issue (if delivery work exists)
- DACI fields filled for shared accountability
